The Wasilla Warriors rallied to score a 7-4 prep baseball win over East Anchorage Monday in Anchorage.
Wasilla used a five-run fifth inning to grab the victory. Alex Bond and Sayer Sanders sparked the Warriors with a two-run double each in the inning. Logan Bailey also doubled and drove in a run during the fifth.
Bailey finished 3 for 4 at the plate in the win. Bond and Sanders were both 2 for 3 with two RBI. Bond also scored twice.
George McSorely earned the win on the mound in relief.
Wasilla improved to 3-3-1 with the win.
Wasilla started its season with six games during a four-day stay in Sitka. The Warriors suffered a 5-3 loss to the Wolves in the 2022 opener. Pedro Camacho, Logan Bean, Will Plowman and Wyatt Walling each had a hit.
Wasilla followed with an 8-2 win over Petersburg. Dayton Greer led Wasilla with two RBI.
The Warriors beat Thunder Mountain 5-3. Walling led Wasilla with two hits, two RBI and a run scored. Plowman scored twice.
Ketchikan beat Wasilla twice, 7-2 and 4-3. The Warriors also tied Sitka 6-6.
