FAIRBANKS — The Wasilla Warriors finished a 1-2-0 during a three-game trip in the Interior over the weekend.
Wasilla posted its lone win during the trip on Friday, scoring a 3-1 win over West Valley at the UAF Patty Center.
Sophomore Trent Wohlers scored to give Wasilla the early 1-0 lead. After John McGee tied the score in the second period for West Valley, freshman Chancie Hanson used his first career goal to give the Warriors the 2-1 lead.
Junior Jade Johnston iced the game with an empty-netter as the buzzer sounded.
Chris Yaskus collected 25 saves in the win.
The win over West Valley was sandwiched by a pair of losses.
Taylor Munson scored twice to lead Lathrop to a 6-2 win over Wasilla on Thursday at the Big Dipper Ice Arena in Fairbanks.
Senior Travis Koso and junior Eric Marshall scored for Wasilla.
Yaskus made 34 saves, as the Malemutes outshot Wasilla 40-20.
On Saturday, North Pole skated to an 11-0 win over the Warriors at the Polar Ice ArAena in North Pole.
Palmer 12, Colony 1
PALMER — The Palmer Moose posted a 12-1 rout of the rival Colony Knights at the Palmer Ice Arena on Friday.
The Moose outshot the Knights 50-14 in the win. Junior netminder Jonas Naegele stopped 13 Colony shots to earn the win in the Moose net.
Lance Nezaticky spoiled Naegele’s bid for the shutout when he tipped Trevor Nickerson’s shot into the net.
Dimond/West 6, Mat-Su 4
WASILLA — Dimond/West needed a pair of unanswered scores to slip past the Mat-Su Ravens 6-4 at the Brett Memorial Ice Arena on Wednesday.
After Dimond/West took a 4-2 lead in the second period, Mikhayla Waugaman and Carrie Glatz scored third-period goals to tie the score for the Ravens.
Waugaman, with an assist from Rosie Fujimoto, scored at the 10:41 mark, and Glatz, with help from Kaitlin Berberich scored five minutes later.
Fujimoto and Berberich also found the back of the net for Mat-Su.
Goalie Casey Branch stopped 34 shots for the Ravens.
Sam Redick led Dimond/West with two goals and two assists.

Houston 4, Homer 3
HOMER — Brendan Weimer scored the game-winner with 40 seconds left in regulation as the Hawks barely edged the Mariners in nonconference action Friday night in Homer.
Houston jumped in front 2-0 in the first period behind goals from Jordan Cole and Micah Ranum.
Homer’s Derek Martushev sliced the deficit in half when he scored off assists from Asa Stage and Neal Reutov with 8:54 to play in the second. But the Hawks answered just more than five minutes later on a power-play goal from Ranum in sending his team into the second intermission with a 3-1 edge.
A goal by David Buckley brought Homer within one 3:47 into the third and the Mariners then knotted the game on a power play with 4:13 to play when Brady Quinn beat Houston goaltender Ben Barenburg, who turned away 23-of-26 shots.
But Weimer’s goal finished off Homer’s comeback attempt.
Mariners netminder Luke Eckert denied 19-of-23 shots.
