WASILLA — After watching the snowfall bury their opportunity to play in each of their first two schedule games of the year, the Colony Knights finally had the chance to hit the field Wednesday night. But Wasilla jumped to an early lead, and never looked back.
The Warriors posted a 15-4 win over the Knights during the first day of the Buddy Dale Invitational Wednesday at Wasilla High School.
The Warriors led 5-1 after the third, but blew the game open with 10 runs in the fourth. Jacob Gilbert led Wasilla with five RBI in the win. Waylon Payne drove in four runs. Nolan Murphy and Clayton Boyett scored three runs each. Gilbert added two runs.
Ben Alley led Colony with a hit and two RBI. Zach Satterly collected a hit, run and RBI.
In other tournament action, Dimond edged Palmer 5-3. The Moose led 2-0, but Dimond collected a combined five runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Luke Guggenmos scored twice. Owen Hayes and Brady Shults drove in runs.
Kodiak beat Redington 22-9.
