In a match featuring arguably the top two 4A programs in the state, the Wasilla Warriors earned a 3-1 (25-12, 25-16, 24-26, 25-15) win over the Dimond Lynx Oct. 16 at Dimond High in Anchorage.
Layla Hays led Wasilla, the defending state champion, with 18 kills and three blocks in the win. Ali Devine finished with 15 kills and 11 digs. Mylee Anderson had 41 assists and 15 digs.
The Warriors also swept a pair of matches during a road trip in Juneau, beating the Crimson Bears 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-12) on Oct. 18 and 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-12) the following day.
Soldotna swept a pair of Northern Lights Conference matches at Colony High, beating the Knights 3-0 (25-21, 27-25, 25-22) on Oct. 18 and 3-1 (25-19, 15-25, 25-18, 25-19) on Oct. 19.
Homer beat Houston 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-14) Oct. 18 in Homer.
