Grant Baksdale and Branson Starheim used four-point nights to help Wasilla earn a 6-3 win over rival Colony Saturday at the Menard Arena in Wasilla.
Barksdale grabbed two goals and two assists in the conference victory. Starheim tallied a shorthanded goal and added three assists. His third assist of the night set up Karson McGrew’s power play goal late in the third period. Ethan Hoyt and Easton McCree also scored.
Hoyt and McCree gave the Warriors a 2-0 lead in the first.
Adam Kara, Aiden Finch and Gavin Weisz scored for Colony. Finch’s goal came on the power play.
Wasilla outshot Colony 33-23 in the win. Jamon O’Bryan made 28 saves for the Knights. Body Davis stopped 35 shots for the Warriors.
Wasilla also beat Juneau-Douglas 6-2 at the Brett Memorial Ice Arena on Thursday.
McGrew, Dalan Dubie, Jaden Mack, Robert Mikulecky, Sterling Myers and Mason Varner scored for Wasilla. Brenna Hagel led Wasilla with three assists. McRee and Gabe Lamm had two assists each.
Palmer finished 1-2-0 during a three-game road trip to the Kenai Peninsula.
Kenai Central edged Palmer 4-3 on Thursday. Kinan Greco finished with two goals and an assist. Zidane Dietz also scored.
Soldotna used three unanswered goals to beat the Moose 5-3 on Friday. Greco, Dietz and Kaleb VonGunten scored in the first period for Palmer.
The Moose beat Homer 6-1 on Saturday.
