The Wasilla Warriors continued their solid start to the 2025-26 season with their first conference victory over the year.

Wasilla improved to 5-2-0 overall with a 5-2 win over rival Colony Tuesday night at the Brett Memorial Ice Arena in Wasilla.

Branson Hagel scored twice in the win. Elijah Barcelona, Dylan Mead and Gavin Blaylock also scored.

Dean Yeager and Logan Zarones grabbed goals for Colony.

Wasilla took a quick 2-0 lead with the Mead and Barcelona goals coming during the first five minutes of play. Yeager scored for Colony to cut the deficit in half at the 3:13 mark of the first period, but Hagel provided the quick answer for the Warriors, scoring less than a minute later.

Mead and Kaleb Rehak led Wasilla with a pair of assists each.

Wasilla outshot the Knights 35-14 in the win. Morgan Gallagher made 30 saves in the loss. Braeden Willis stopped a dozen shots in the win.
