A pair of second-period goals were the difference, and Wasilla earned a 3-1 win over the Houston Hawks Tuesday night at the Menard Arena in Wasilla.
Mason Holler and Grant Barksdale each scored during the middle frame for the Warriors. Barksdale’s goal came on the power play.
Jared Hacker gave Wasilla a 1-0 lead in the first.
Barksdale and Holler finished with a goal and an assist each.
Brayden Spain put the Hawks on the scoreboard with a goal early in the third.
Wasilla outshot Houston 24-18 in the win. Bodey Davis made 17 saves for Wasilla, and Kole Kite stopped 21 shots for the Knights.
Houston bounced back with a 10-1 victory over Tri Valley Wednesday night at the Menard.
Daniel Matveev notched the hat trick for the Hawks. Spain, Jairden Russell, Afanasy Efimov, Domnin Efimov, Michael Bogomolov, John Natekin and Trenton Huber also scored.
Houston outshot the Viking Warriors 39-7. Dylan Shaffer made six saves for the Hawks.
