WASILLA — The Wasilla Warriors scored a half-dozen times during the final two periods to score a 7-4 come-from-behind win over the Houston Hawks at the Curtis C. Menard II Memorial Ice Arena on Tuesday.
Houston led 2-1 after the first period, but the Warriors found the back of the net three times in the second and third periods.
Freshman Colton Fletcher led Wasilla with a pair of goals. His first came shorthanded and gave WHS the 1-0 lead in the first.
Fletcher’s second goal tied the game at 3 late in the second.
Senior Chancie Hanson bagged a pair of goals and an assist in the win, while sophomore Cooper Hanson added a goal and an assist. Freshman Tegan Harrington and sophomore Andrew Cooley also scored for Wasilla.
Ahanu Kinney and Jon Lovelace scored during the first period to give the Hawks an early 2-1 lead. Kinney’s goal came on the power play, seven seconds after Fletcher scored shorthanded.
Lane Styers also scored for the Hawks.
Freshman Lauren Massie made 28 saves in the win, Houston freshman Aaron Allred stopped 23 shots in the loss.
