Warriors split with Bears at Kodiak

KODIAK — Wasilla freshman Alexis Imoe scored 10 points to lead the Warriors to a 49-35 win over the Kodiak Bears at Kodiak High School on Friday.

Juniors Celeste Colegrove and Kelsey Cottle added 18 points in the victory.

On Saturday, Kodiak used a 13-8 fourth-quarter run to grab a 43-41 and force the two-game series split.

Imoe led the Warriors with 11 points. Colegrove added seven.

Kodiak improrved to 2-2 in NLC play with the win.

Wasilla boys seventh at tourney

ANCHORAGE — The Wasilla Warriors finished in seventh place of the Alaska Airlines Classic after a 60-53 win over the East Thunderbirds at West Anchorage High School on Saturday.

Senior Cody Pfeifer scored a game-high 23 points in the win. Sophomores Connor Devine and Bryadon Kuiper added a dozen points each.

Wasilla held Westinghouse, of Brooklyn, N.Y., to just eight second-half points, but Westinghouse scored eight points in overtime to edge the Warriors 43-37 during the second day of the tourney on Friday.

Pfeifer scored 15 points in the loss. Devine added eight.

Host West won the tourney with an 89-78 win over Christian Life, of Humble, Texas, late Saturday.
