Warriors stay alive; Palmer and Colony see seasons come to end

WASILLA — There's only one Mat-Su Valley team still standing in the ASAA/First National Bank 4A State Volleyball Championships.

Wasilla edged Colony 3-2 (24-26, 25-19, 25-21, 11-25, 15-10) during the consolation semifinals at the Curtis D. Menard Memorial Sports Center Friday morning. The Warriors will move into the fourth-place match to play the Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears, who slipped past Palmer 3-2 (25-15, 22-25, 20-25, 25-16, 15-13).

The fourth-place match is slated for 10:45 a.m. Saturday.
