The first basketball polls of the season are out and the Warriors are at the top of the pack.
Both the Wasilla boys' and girls' basketball squads own first place in the initial poll. The Warrior boys garnered six first-place votes and 42 overall points to earn first place.
The girls received four first-place votes and 34 overall points. Soldotna is a close second in the girls' poll. The 12-0 Stars received four first place votes and 29 overall points.
The Palmer boys' (8-3) are fourth in the poll. Palmer got 15 points.
The poll is done on a weekly basis and compiled by the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner.
