JUNEAU —The Wasilla girls buried Thunder Mountain with a 17-1 third-quarter run, and scored a 58-34 victory over the Falcons Thursday in Juneau.
Leya DePriest supplied a game-high 19 points for the Warriors. Seven of her points came during Wasilla's big third quarter. Azlynn Brandenburg added nine.
Ashley Young led the Falcons with nine points.
Thursday marked the second time Wasilla saw Thunder Mountain this season. The Falcons beat Wasilla during the Doc Larson Roundball Classic in Wasilla in December.
In boys action, Wasilla edged Thunder Mountain 56-55 in overtime. Alex Baham was 4 of 4 from the free throw line during the extra period for the Warriors. Isaac Houck added three points in overtime.
Houck was big in the fourth quarter for WHS. He scored six of his team's 11 fourth-quarter points, and was 4 of 5 from the free throw line in the final period of regulation. Baham led the Warriors with a game-high 20. Houck added 11, and Ryen Milliron chipped in nine.
