Warriors sweep way into semis

WASILLA — Ricki Koso was perfect from behind the arc and nearly perfect from the field during a lopsided win over Skyview.

The senior guard scored 14 points to help the Warriors score a 72-13 win over the Skyview Panthers during the Northern Lights Conference Championships semifinals Thursday at Wasilla High.

Koso, a reserve guard, hit 5 of 7 shots from the floor and was 3 for 3 from behind the arc in the win.

Senior Alyssa Hutchins led Wasilla with 19 points in the win. Pherrari Brumbaugh added 10 in the win. Brumbaugh also pulled down eight rebounds, seven offensive. Bri Pearson and Chelsey Ahlers each led Skyview with a team-high four points.

In boys’ action, Wasilla took its first step toward a fourth straight conference title with a 75-36 win over Skyview.

Eric Roberts led a trio of Warriors who scored in double digits with 17 points. Dane Kuiper added 14 and Braydon Kuiper chipped in 12.

Connor Devine was a point and blocked shot short of his ninth triple-double of the year, finishing with nine points, 15 rebounds and nine blocks.

DJ Collier hit a pair of threes and led the Panthers with 13 points.

Wasilla moves forward to play Kodiak in the semifinals today at 8:15 p.m.
