Wasilla boys, Colony girls finish second in the Homer Invite team standings

Wasilla senior Dylan Jeffus used a pair of individual wins to help lead the Warriors to a runner-up finish in the boys class of the Homer Invitational Saturday in Homer.

Jeffus finished first in both the high jump and the triple jump. Timothy Grisso was first in the 100 meters. Jeffus and Grisso also helped Wasilla win the 400-meter relay.

Wasilla was second in the team standings with 93 total points.

Eric Kolomeychik was second in the shot put. His teammates Payson White and Liam Hays finished third and fourth. Kade Reynolds was third in the 300 hurdles and fourth in the 110-meter hurdles. Landon Hayes was fifth in both the 800 and 3,200.

Ella Hopkins helped lead Colony to a runner-up finish in the girls team standings. Hopkins was first in the 3,200 and fourth in the 1,600. Viviana Boney was fourth in the 300 hurdles and fifth in the 100 for Colony. Malia Matthews placed fourth in the 200. Mariella Belliston (400) and Hope Colwell (300 hurdles) placed fifth.

Colony finished with 67.5 total points.

Katey Houser led the Palmer girls with a pair of wins, finishing first in the 400 and 1,600. Abby Pettit (shot put) and Brooke Hronkin (triple jump) were both fourth for Palmer, and Elora Baker was fifth.

Arthur Merritt led the Palmer boys with a first-place finish in the 300 hurdles and runner-up finish in the 100. Grant Keyes was third in the triple jump, and Cal Tipton (shot put) and Adam Chandler (discus) both placed fifth.

Bella Hays won both the shot put and discus to lead the Wasilla girls. Layla Hays and Dominique Bodle were second and third for the Wasilla girls in the shot put.

Kodi Swanson was third in the 110-meter hurdles and fifth in the 300 hurdles to lead the Colony boys. Ethan McNulty (discus) and Matthew Rongitsch (1,600) both placed fourth for the Knights.
