The Wasilla Warriors and Colony Knights have advanced to the ASAA/First National Bank Flag Football State Championships, which start Thursday at Wasilla High School.
Wasilla finished second and Colony was third in the Railbelt Conference tournament last week in Fairbanks.
The Knights open state tournament play against South Anchorage Thursday at 3 p.m. at WHS. Host Wasilla follows with a game against West Anchorage at 5 p.m.
Other first-round matchups include Dimond against Bartlett at 11 a.m. and Railbelt Conference champ North Pole against Service at 1 p.m.
North Pole beat Wasilla 19-14 to win the Railbelt title.
Wasilla was the top seed in the conference tourney after finishing the regular season 16-1. The Warriors opened their tournament with a 50-6 win over Lathrop.
Colony, the No. 3 seed, started with a 60-6 victory over Redington. North Pole edged the Knights 25-20 in the semifinals. The Knights clinched their spot in state with a 32-0 win over Lathrop.
