EAGLE RIVER — The Dimond Lynx took advantage of a long power play, and skated to a 5-4 victory over the Wasilla Warriors Tuesday at the McDonald Center in Eagle River.
Dimond struck twice during a 5-minute advantage midway through the third period. Both of the goals, tallies by Taner Rath and Cody Dearing, came with an 31-second span.
Wasilla led 3-1 heading into the final period, but Dimond struck four times in the third.
Blake Marks, Garrett Conroy, Russell Harren and Larsen Tubbs all scored for the Warriors in the loss. Marks scored midway through the first period to tie the score at 1. Conroy and Harren found the back of the net during the second period to give the Warriros a lead.
After Dimond jumped ahead in the third, Tubbs scored with 4:42 left in regulation to pull the Warriros within a goal.
Wasilla outshot Dimond 28-20 in the game.

WASILLA — The East Anchorage Thunderbirds edged a shorthanded Colony Knights squad 1-0 Tuesday at the Menard Arena in Wasilla.
Jack Reynolds scored the game's lone tally with 3 minutes and 6 seconds left in the game. East outshot Colony 20-18.
Colony goalie Joey Diltz made 17 saves in the loss.
The Knights were missing seven regulars due to illness or injury.
