Wasilla, Colony semifinal wins set up an all-Valley battle in NLC girls title game; Wasilla boys advance to title game

KODIAK — There will be an all-Valley battle in the Northern Lights Conference Championships girls' title game once again.

Colony needed a 53-32 win over Palmer to earn the chance to play for its second straight conference title. Wasilla senior Jenna Johnson posted 31 points to help the Warriors explode for a 72-21 win over Kenai in the other semifinal.

Colony and Wasilla are regulars in the NLC title game. The Valley powers have combined to win the last 16 region titles.

On the boys bracket, Wasilla scored a 53-34 win over Colony to move into the final and score its first trip to the state tourney since the Warriors won it all in 2007.
