Wasilla death, arrests investigation ongoing

On Tuesday, Alaska State Troopers were called to respond to reports of a truck and trailer blocking the roadway on Heather Way in Wasilla.

Upon arrival, a male ran from the trailer and into a residence. Further investigation revealed that the pickup truck had been stolen in the overnight. As AST and the Wasilla Police Department conducted and executed a search warrant, law enforcement located 2 suspects, Arthur Bean, 40, of Wasilla, and Kenneth Jenks, 34, also of Wasilla.

Further investigation lead to a 3rd individual being located, deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot. This came after a Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) response and extensive Crisis Intervention Team and crisis negotiations.

Notification of next of kin is pending.

Bean was arrested and charged with Vehicle Theft I, Misconduct Involving Weapons (MIW) III, and Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances IV. Jenks was arrested for his active felony warrants in addition to MIW III.
