WASILLA — The Wasilla High softball team opened its 2016 campaign with a lopsided victory over one of the team's biggest rivals.

The Warriors got a complete game from starting pitcher Deborah Polk in their 11-1 win over Palmer in five innings Wednesday at the Alcantra Sports Complex in Wasilla.

Polk, a senior, struck out seven Moose hitters in the game, the first of the prep season for both squads.
