MAT-SU — One of the four municipal bodies holding elections tonight has released preliminary numbers.
Borough results are trickling in. Palmer and Houston had yet to post results as of 8:40 p.m.
But for the City of Wasilla, it looks like Colleen Sullivan-Leonard beat Gary Hale to take the seat vacated when Nancy Hall resigned. Sullivan-Leonard is a consultant for policy makers and this won’t be her first stint on the council.
Another returnee to the council appears to be Steve Menard, who won in a squeaker of a five-way race in the election to replace Kristofer Larson on the council.
The third seat up for grabs this election went to the incumbent; Wasilla voters have apparently decided Dianne Woodruff is more deserving of a second term than Michael Carson is of a first.
There was only one proposition on the Wasilla city ballot and voters would apparently rather their politicians continue to file financial disclosure forums with the Alaska Public Offices Commission.
