Wasilla freshman Hailee Giacobbe won an individual title and led the Warriors to the team crown during the Glennallen Invitational cross-country running meet Saturday in Glennallen.
Giacobbe finished first in the varsity girls race with a time of 20 minutes, 10 seconds. The freshman was one of five Warriors to place in the top 10, joining sophomore Kinley Bruno (fourth), junior Fiona Lemke (seventh), sophomore Allie Dollick (eighth) and sophomore Jordan Ostop (10th).
Wasilla finished with 23 total points in the team standings.
Redington senior Mya Campbell was the runner-up with a time of 22:15. Saydi Carduso was third for the Huskies. Redington was also second in the girls team standings.
The Wasilla boys also won a team title.
Freshman Blaze Rubeo led the Warriors with a second-place finish in the boys race, and a time of 18:02. WHS sophomore Gabriel Carey (fourth), senior Chase Foss (fifth), senior Kendall Greathouse (sixth), senior Aceton Edgerton (seventh), junior Ammon Seims (eighth) and junior Stephen Hafen (ninth) also placed in the top 10.
Jeremiah Thompson was 12th to lead Redington.
