ANCHORAGE — In her final game in a Wasilla uniform, senior Jenna Johnson scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Warriors to a 60-54 win over the Ketchikan Kings during the third-place game of the ASAA/First National Bank 4A State Championships at the Sullivan Arena in Anchorage Saturday morning.
Johnson, who will play Division I basketball for Utah State University next year, finished the game 10-for-16 from the floor, nailed a pair of three-pointers and blocked three shots in the win.
Sophomore Kelsey Cottle nearly notched a doube-double of her own, collecting 10 points and eight rebounds. Junior Jillian Troisi scored eight points on 4-for-4 shooting.
Laci Effenberger led the Lady Kings with 17 points and Alexis Edwardson added 15.
Wasilla shot 57 percent from the floor and held Ketchikan to 37 percent shooting.
The Warriors finished third in the state tourney for the second straight year with the win.
