WASILLA — The Wasilla Warriors bounced back from a rare shutout loss to score a big win over the Grace Christian Grizzlies.
Juneau-Douglas used a goal in the first two minutes to slip past the Wasilla girls 1-0 in nonconference action on Friday, but freshman Reese Sande used another big game to help the Warriors rebound with a 7-1 Northern Lights Conference victory over Grace on Saturday.
Sande bagged three goals and three assists in the win. Abby Crawford and Nicole Catlett finished with two goals each.
The Wasilla boys followed a 5-1 loss to Juneau with a 2-2 tie against Grace.
Earlier in the week, Wasilla scored its fourth straight shutout with an 11-0 victory over Houston earlier this week.
Sande collected five points in the first 15 minutes of play, recording three goals and two assists. Crawford added two goals and an assist. Emily Summers also notched a hat trick for the Warriors. Ally Hull, Leanna Malak and Olivia Matson also scored goals for Wasilla.
The Wasilla boys used a 6-0 win to record the sweep of the Hawks.
