PALMER — Wasilla junior Catherine Baham hit only two shots from the floor Tuesday night. But each was among the biggest buckets of the game for the Warriors.
Baham scored all six of her points in the second half to help Wasilla come away with a 38-33 Northern Lights Conference victory over Colony at Colony High School.
Baham knocked down a three-pointer late in the third quarter to give Wasilla a 25-24 lead. In the fourth, Baham went to the basket to tie the score at 30. That Baham basket was part of a six-point Wasilla run, and helped the Warriors cap the game with a 10-3 run.
Senior Leya DePriest led the Warriors with a double-double, collecting 10 points and 16 rebounds. Azlynn Brandenberg added nine points in the win.
Sophomore Alex Carlton hit a trio of three-pointers, and led Colony with a game-high 11 points. Carlton hit a pair of threes in the second quarter to score half her team’s second-quarter points. Chase Stephens added eight for Colony.
Led by Brandenburg, Wasilla jumped to a 10-5 first-quarter lead. But Colony used a dozen second-quarter points to take a 17-16 lead into the intermission.
Wasilla improved to 3-0 in NLC play. Colony dropped to 3-1.
