PALMER - The Wasilla girls basketball squad extended the program's Northern Lights Conference winning streak to 91 games with a 49-43 win over the Colony Knights at Colony High School on Tuesday night.
Sophomore Carlee Naczi hit a three-pointer midway through the second quarter to snap a 13-13 tie. The Warriors, who have not suffered a loss to an NLC foe since falling to the Knights in the 2000 NLC tournament title game, never trailed after the Naczi shot.
Junior Jenna Johnson led Wasilla (4-1) with 16 points in the game. Senior Shelby Fulton scored 12, and freshman Kelsey Cottle added 10.
Junior Alex Coon led Colony with 16 points, while junior Allie Grazulis added 12 for the Knights.
Later Tuesday evening, the Colony boys used a 10-0 run to cap a 53-43 win over the Wasilla at Colony High.
Sophomore John Palmer led the Knights with 13 points, while forward Josh Moseley added 12.
Tyler Johannes led the Warriors with 10 points.
