The Wasilla girls soccer squad used a big weekend in Juneau to secure the Railbelt Conference title.
The Warriors earned a pair of wins over Juneau-Douglas to finish the regular season 6-1-1 in conference play and 16-3-2 overall.
Wasilla needed a big comeback to beat the Crimson Bears on Friday. Juneau grabbed a 2-0 lead, but the Warriors answered with three unanswered goals during the final 20 minutes of play. Holly Marsh converted a penalty kick in the 3-2 win. Lainey Kroon scored a goal, and also set up another when a Juneau player knocked a ball into their own net after a Kroon corner kick.
Wasilla blanked Juneau 3-0 the following day. Jordan Sande scored two goals. Kroon added a goal and two assists.
Palmer scored a pair of varsity wins in Homer. The Moose girls erased a 2-0 deficit with three unanswered goals in a 3-2 win. Lila Pettit scored twice, and Kaylee Gallego added a goal.
The Palmer boys beat Homer 3-0. Cole Miller had a pair of goals. Jacob Logan also scored.
