WASILLA — The Wasilla Warriors notched a half-dozen pins en route to a 54-24 dual win over Ketchikan Thursday at Wasilla High School.
Defending state champion Micah Mathis was among the Warriors with pins, needed only 1 minute, 53 seconds to beat Ketchikan’s Vince Tenebro in the 113-pound match. Isaiah Elvsaas (126), Andrew Newland (145), Andrue Shepersky (152), Elijah Leonard (160) and Chase Minnick (220) also recorded pins for the Warriors.

Moose score dual wins
PALMER — The Palmer Moose picked up a pair of wins during the Lancer Smith Duals Thursday at Palmer High School.
Palmer posted a 47-18 win over West Valley. The Moose also beat Juneau-Douglas 45-18. Christian Kurka helped lead the Moose with a win by pin and another by technical fall at 160 pounds.
Kurka pinned Juneau’s Ethan Goebel and earned a technical fall with an 18-2 victory over West Valley’s Stanley Rogers.
The Chugiak Mustangs wrestled to a 45-35 win over Houston. Robert Ritter (182 pounds), Malaki Barrett (195) and Ezra Lincecum (220) recorded consecutive pins for the Hawks.
