Hello Wasilla!
Wow. And you thought that Sarah Palin being out of any race would’ve made life a little easier in your town, huh? Now, I don’t live in a very rural part of New York (suburb of Buffalo), but I do hold true to the same values of many who don’t live in the liberal metropolises of America. So, let me offer a bit of my take on the Joe McGinniss issue.
Certainly, Mr. McGinniss is a liberal and, as such, he is angry. So, we need to ask, “Why did he move there?”
Certainly, there is less to “find out” now about the Palins than there ever was. In fact, the book supposedly “chronicles” the year Mrs. Palin was everywhere but Wasilla. So, moving to Wasilla gains him nothing except free press. The fact of the matter is, he moved there to make news. If I was a resident of Wasilla, I’d show him why the Palins are who they are.
Remember, the reason why much of America loves the Palins is the same reason why much of America would love the people of Wasilla. Values do not change. Your values are America’s values. So, invite him in. Invite him to church. Invite him to the local festivals. Invite him to dinner. His move was creepy, but liberals often allow a wrong as long as it ends up benefitting their cause.
Keep your head up, Wasilla. You are America. Maybe you can help change Mr. McGinniss’ belief system.
