WASILLA — Wasilla High School students put on their final performance for a local rendition of "Camelot and Camelittle" Saturday, April 22.
"This group has been a lot of fun," Johnson said.
"Camelot and Camelittle" is a plucky comedy filled to the brim with puns, silly characters, and memorable moments
Johnson said that her students really seemed to enjoy settling into their roles and putting on a good show.
"This cast was so cohesive. The kids have done a lot of work," Johnson said.
Johnson has been leading the school's drama department for the last five semesters on top of her duties as the marching band director. She said they originally started with only a dozen or so drama students but there are over 30 students actively involved now.
"The program has grown and grown," Johnson said.
Johnson said that her students learned all the different aspects of theater through hands-on learning. She said that numerous students have even taken on leadership roles and some even aspire to pursue acting after high school. She said the process of working together and gaining skills has helped them develop as individuals.
"It's fun to see how much they've grown," Johnson said.
