The Wasilla Warriors enjoyed a fast start, survived a pair of Colony big innings and held on for a 12-10 win over the Knights Tuesday evening at Wasilla High School.
Veteran Jacob Hansen pitched a scoreless seventh to help Wasilla preserve its two-run lead. The Knights had cut the deficit with a five-run sixth, Colony also scored five runs in the third.
The Warriors jumped to an 8-0 lead in the game, extended it to 9-5 in the fourth and led a 12-5 advantage before Colony’s five-run sixth,
Hansen was also 3 for 4 at the plate, with two runs and an RBI. Andre Brown, Calvin Stoll and Will Plowman drove in two runs each, Five different Warriors scored two runs each.
Brayden Parrent drove in six runs to lead the Knights. Kaden Ketchum was 4 for 4 at the plate, and finished with two runs and two RBI. Ben Alley and Brayden Methven also scored twice.
Landon Guggenmos tossed a five-inning complete game and led Palmer to a 12-2 win over Grace Christian.
Guggenmos was also 1 for 2 at the plate with three runs scored and an RBI. Adams Smithers led Palmer with three RBI. Owen Hayes, Jason Gunderson and Dylan Garrettson drove in two runs each.
