WASILLA — Lowe’s was the big winner during the city of Wasilla’s July 4 parade.
Lowe’s was named the overall winner of the floats judged during the holiday parade, according to a press release issued by city officials.
Judges also awarded their top three picks in the theme, vehicle and general categories. Good Shepherd Church was earned the top spot in the theme category. Antique Power Club scored top honors in the vehicle class. Church on the Rock was first in general.
Sportsman Warehouse and Rodeo Alaska finished second and third in the theme class. M.A.T.I. and Helpline Towing were second in third in the vehicle group. Dancers Workshop and Word of Life church finished second and third in the general group.
Those recognized will be awarded ribbons July 28 at the Wasilla Museum during the DVD release of the local film, “Sudsy Slim Rides Again.”
