Special agents from the FBI Anchorage Field Office arrested Aaron Mileur Tuesday for his alleged involvement at the U.S. Capitol Building on Jan. 6, according to Anchorage Field Office Public Affairs Officer Chloe Martin.
Mileur resides in Wasilla,
According to official documents, the FBI National Threat Operations center received a tip on Jan. 6 that Mileur posted photographs and video footage of himself inside the U.S. Capitol Building, The complainant was a Facebook friend of Mileur according to the FBI, and provided photographs and video posted on Mileur’s Facebook page. The video featured Mileur filming himself inside the capitol building. A second tip was sent to the FBI NTOC with a video recorded inside the capitol building that was posted to Mileur’s personal Facebook page and the “Save Anchorage” Facebook page.
The FBI used a Department of Motor Vehicles query to compare the photos of Mileur posted to social media and the photo on his driver’s license. The FBI made the match and confirmed that Mileur is a resident of Alaska. On Feb. 16, the FBI obtained phone records that linked Mileur’s cell phone to his Facebook page.
Mileur made an appearance in a federal courtroom Tuesday afternoon.
