Wasilla man arrested on weapons, drug, theft charges

WASILLA — A 31-year-old man was arrested on weapon and drug charges Wednesday after law enforcement officers served a search warrant on his West Sands Drive residence.

According to a dispatch statement, Alaska State Troopers with the Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit and the Palmer Alaska State Troopers Criminal Suppression Unit served a search warrant around 4:50 p.m., April 23.

As a result of the investigation, they arrested Orrin Jez for two counts of second-degree theft for possessing two stolen firearms; second-degree drug misconduct charges for possession of heroin; fourth-degree drug misconduct; two counts of third-degree weapons misconduct; and for violating conditions of release.

Jez was transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility and held on $50,000 bail. As a condition of release on bail, he also will need to find a court-approved person to watch him.
