WASILLA — A man was arrested at his Clapp Street residence on drug and weapons charges Tuesday after the Mat-Su Narcotics Team served a search warrant for suspected marijuana grow, according to an Alaska State Trooper press release.
Officers contacted Wayne D. Jones, 61, at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday and determined he was responsible for the 39 live marijuana plants and related growing equipment.
Jones also was in possession of three firearms, including a concealable handgun. Jones has a prior felony conviction for a drug-related offense.
He was arrested on three counts of fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and two counts of weapons misconduct and remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $5,000 bail.
