PALMER -- Patrick Seltenreich, a Wasilla resident, is currently facing three felony counts for possession of methamphetamine, including one count of possessing a controlled substance with reckless disregard that the possession occurred on or within 500 feet of school grounds.
Kelly P. Swihart, a Wasilla Police officer, followed up on a search warrant for Seltenreich's Wasilla residence, and identified Seltenreich by his name and date of birth. A search of his person revealed 9.6 grams of methamphetamine in a small metal tin, according to documents filed in Palmer Superior Court, packaged in individual portions ranging from under a gram to nearly 2 grams. The methamphetamine tested positive when analyzed with a field test kit.
Seltenreich's property rests within 500 feet of a preschool and day-care center.
In a search of Seltenreich's residence, WPD officers also found numerous glass pipes used to smoke methamphetamine, according to the documents, and a digital gram scale inside his bedroom.
After being read his rights, Seltenreich reportedly agreed to talk with officers on the spot. He allegedly admitted to the possession and distribution of the drug, which he habitually gave to "friends" who visited him at home. He also told Swihart that he used the scales in his bedroom to weigh the illegal substances, according to the documents.
Seltenreich is charged with two counts of third-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and one count of fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and is being held on lieu of $10,000 bail at Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility. All three charges are felonies.
Seltenreich is scheduled for a pre-indictment hearing on March 26.
