Wasilla man injured in plane crash

WILLOW — Alaska State Troopers received a report 1:40 p.m. today that an airplane crashed at Willow Airport.

The report said the pilot was Curtis Green Jr., 72, of Wasilla. He was flying a 1952 PA-18 Piper when the engine stopped in mid-air. While trying to land, troopers said, the plane overturned and came to rest to the west of the north end of the landing strip.

Green, the only one in the plane, called 911 and was transported by Willow emergency personnel to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center. He was injured, but the injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
