WASILLA — Alaska State Troopers say a ride home from a party turned to a bloody altercation early Saturday morning when one Wasilla teen stabbed another.
Troopers were called to investigate a stabbing at 2:30 a.m. near the corner of Sourdough and Meadow Lakes drives, according to an AST press statement.
On scene, troopers were told that Corey Hannon, 18, and Demitrius Whiteley, 19, both of Wasilla, were among five people driving home from a party earlier that night.
“Most of the occupants of the vehicle were intoxicated including Corey Hannon,” the press release states.
An argument broke out over the course of the ride between the two teens. Whiteley was dropped off at home, troopers report. As he got out, he slugged Hannon in the face. Hannon got out of the car and fought with Whiteley.
Over the course of the fight, troopers report, Whiteley was stabbed in the back and left shoulder.
Hannon was arrested on a single charge of felony assault and booked into the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $20,000 bail. Department of Corrections records late Monday showed he’s still there.
