PALMER — A Wasilla man being released after Alaska State Troopers picked him up for trespassing wound up right back in jail after he allegedly stole a breathalyzer on his way out the door.
According to a trooper press statement, at 3:31 p.m. Saturday, Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility jailers called to talk about Ronald Skoog, 28.
“Video evidence revealed that Skoog stole a Portable Breath Test (machine) valued at over $500 as he was being released,” AST reports.
Troopers report they got the PBT back and arrested Skoog, sending him back to pre-trial, this time on $3,000 bail.
According to court records, Skoog has a half-dozen open cases, five in Palmer and one, a civil case, in Juneau.
In Palmer, he’s facing low-level theft and trespassing charges. The civil case involves State Farm Insurance suing Skoog and a business called Bullwinkles Inc.
As of Monday, Skoog has posted bail and been released, according to jail records.
