WASILLA — A man allegedly left a woman and her 5-year-old son in an overturned car for more than two hours after he crashed it Saturday.
According to a trooper press statement, the car, a 1993 Chevy Lumina, was discovered rolled onto its driver’s side sometime at around 11 p.m. on Dawn Lake Drive.
The car’s owner was found inside with her son. But troopers say she wasn’t driving when it crashed.
They believe Timothy L. Kuretich Jr., 25, of Wasilla, was.
Troopers say the woman was highly intoxicated when they found her. The boy was checked out at the scene and found to be unhurt. His mother was sent to the hospital where she was likewise found to be uninjured.
Troopers say Kuretich is still at large. Possible charges when he’s located include child endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a revoked license.
The boy was handed over to his grandfather.
