WASILLA — For standing in the middle of Church Road and flipping the bird to passing cars, a local man was arrested Tuesday evening.
According to an Alaska State Troopers press statement, Daniel W. Box, 26, of Wasilla, was first reported at 6:01 p.m. standing near where Church meets the Parks Highway.
“Several vehicles swerved to avoid striking Box, who was standing in the middle of the road flipping off traffic,” troopers report. “Box refused to comply with troopers on scene and challenged troopers to a fight.”
Box struggled with troopers as they arrested him, according to the release. He was jailed for disorderly conduct, obstructing a highway and resisting arrest. He was also wanted on a warrant for failure to appear on theft and trespassing charges. He was jailed at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $2,000 bail. Jail records Thursday morning showed he was still in custody.
