WASILLA — Alaska State Troopers with the Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit and the Criminal Suppression Unit served a search warrant around 9 a.m., Friday on Carefree Drive in Wasilla that landed two people in jail on felony charges of theft and drug and weapons misconduct.
Troopers say they arrested homeowner Ernesto Avila, 40, of Wasilla and Amber Magee, 22, of Wasilla after a search of the residence found cocaine, scales and two handguns, along with several items stolen during various thefts and burglaries.
Recovered items include televisions, laptop computers and a PlayStation.
Avila was arrested on felony drug and weapons misconduct charges and three counts of felony theft, according to court records. Avila was sent to Mat-Su Pre-Trial with bail set at $10,000 cash only and he will need a court-approved, third party custodian.
Magee was arrested on a felony warrant for theft and sent to Mat-Su Pre-Trial with bail set at $750.
