Wasilla scores another big football win

PALMER — Wasilla assistant coach Abe Salmon found a way to motive the Warriors Friday. Salmon gathered the results from his team's last 17 meetings with the Colony Knights. And Friday night, Wasilla used a big second half to ensure history did not repeat itself.

Wasilla scored 35 unanswered points, 28 in the second half, to score a 42-7 win over Colony at Colony High School on Friday.

Colony, which held a 12-5 advantage in the last 17 regular season-meetings, used a Ryan Ertz touchdown to tie the score at 7-7. But Wasilla's defensive front smothered the Knights offense and Warriors senior Devon Teeling carried the WHS offense as the Warriors rolled to the big victory.

Teeling galloped for 190 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries, and the Wasilla defensive front recorded numerous sacks and held the Knights to three total yards rushing.
