Wasilla senior scores game-high 19 in all-star game win

Wasilla senior Bella Hays scored a game-high 19 points to lead Team Gold to a 55-52 win over Team Blue in the Alaska Association of Basketball Coaches 3A/4A Girls Senior All-Star Game Saturday at Grace Christian School in Anchorage.

Hays, a three-time AABC first-team all-state selection, shot 9 of 14 from the field, and added six rebounds. Hays was one of three Valley athletes on Team Gold. Redington senior Lexi Seymore, the AABC 3A Girls Player of the Year, scored nine points. Houston senior Emily Bitler added four points and five rebounds.

Team Blue featured Wasilla senior Megan Alley, Redington senior Destiny Simmons, and Palmer seniors Livia Solis and Alyssa Clark. Alley finished with six points and four rebounds.

Colony senior Harvey Pullen pulled down nine rebounds during Team Blue’s 83-74 win over Team Gold in the 3A/4A boys all-star game. Houston senior Braden Cork also played for Team Blue. Houston senior Cody Wyrick and Redington senior Logan Seymore also played for Team Gold. Wyrick hit a trio of three-pointers and scored nine points, while Seymore added eight.

Susitna Valley’s India Roderick and Myka Wilson played in the 1A/2A girls all-star game. Team Gold beat Team Blue 100-70. Roderick scored two points for Team Gold.

Su Valley’s Bryson Jolley played for Team Gold in the 1A/2A boys all-star game. Jolley scored 12 points in the 118-109 loss to Team Blue.
