On Thursday evening, two men were found dead by authorities after Alaska State Troopers (AST) received reports of shots fired in a residence in Fairview.
According to the online dispatch, AST and officers from the Wasilla Police Department immediately responded to the residence, where two men were found to have been shot.
Preliminary investigation has determined that 50-year-old Patrick Kammermeyer and 57-year-old William Nunley, both of Wasilla, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Nunley, along with another family member attempted to intervene to protect other family members from Kammermeyer. Officials said both men shot at each other, striking and killing the other.
Next of kin for both men have been notified and the bodies have been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s office for further investigation. Meanwhile, AST has turned over the investigation to the Alaska Bureau of Investigation.
This is a developing story.
