WASILLA ¬— As Palmer goalkeeper Kat Godden continued her stellar the play in the Moose net, the Wasilla Warriors turned to their defense to help preserve a 3-1 Northern Lights Conference win over the Moose Monday at Wasilla High School.
Wasilla scored all three of its goals in the first half in the win, which raised the Warriors’ mark to 10-3-0 on the season. Alexa Starr scored during the sixth minute of play to give the Warriors the early lead. Freshman Alia Donley scored twice during a 10-minute span to add to the Warriors lead. Donley posted her first goal during the 15th minute, and scored again during the 25th.
“Our defense buckled down in the second half,” Wasilla head coach Patrick O’Neill said.

WASILLA — Alex Fonov scored a pair of goals to lead Wasilla to a 6-2 boys soccer win over Palmer Monday at Wasilla High School.
Stone Krueger, Cash McGregor, Ethan Keenan and Oleg Lozko also scored for the Warriors, who improved to 2-0 against the Moose. Palmer senior James Nisbett recorded both of Palmer’s goals.
