Wasilla teen arrested for possessing child porn

WASILLA — A 16-year-old boy was arrested Thursday on charges of possessing child pornography.

Alaska Bureau of Investigation's Technical Crimes Unit says in a press release that the juvenile was contacted near Wasilla March 26 “during an investigation into the distribution of child sexual abuse images using mobile devices on the "MeetMe" and "Kik" social networks.”

At that time, electronic devices were seized for processing by the Technical Crime Unit's laboratory, and evidence was later found on the devices to corroborate the allegations.

The juvenile was arrested April 10 on charges of Possession of Child Pornography and remanded at the Mat-Su Youth Facility without incident.
