On Sunday morning, Alaska State Troopers (AST) responded to a report of a home invasion and a shot fired at a residence in Wasilla.

According to the AST dispatch, troopers and EMS arrived and found the suspect of the home invasion, Justice Beaudoin-Martinez, age 22 of Houston, suffering from a single gunshot wound. While lifesaving measures were attempted, he was ultimately declared deceased. He was not known to the residents.

Investigation revealed the two residents of the home had discovered Beaudoin-Martinez inside their home and a clash ensued, during which the male resident was stabbed in the arm. The male that was stabbed suffered a non-life-threatening injury and was treated at a local hospital

Defending her husband, the female resident retrieved a firearm and fired a single gunshot, striking Beaudoin-Martinez and resulted in his death.

AST writes that the scene investigation is consistent with an act of self-defense. Beaudoin-Martinez’s next of kin has been notified.
