Playing against a field of adults, 11-year-old Rynae Baca posted the best mark on the final day of the Alaska State Amateur Handicap Golf Championships.
Baca's adjusted total of 65 at the Moose Run Golf Course gave the young Wasilla golfer a three-day total of 213. She finished in second-place, just four strokes shy of 18-year-old Brittany Bomar, of Anchorage.
Bomar notched an adjusted total of 70 to win the amateur title.
The state amateur championships take a golfer's handicap into consideration when calculating the final scores. To crown a champion, officials take the player's gross score, the total the athlete shoots on the course, and subtracts their handicap.
The three-day championships are played on three-courses. Anchorage Golf Course hosted day one and the second day was played at Palmer Golf Course.
Baca posted a net total of 76 at Anchorage Golf Course, and a 72 in rainy conditions at Palmer.
Gregory Smith's three-day total of 202 earned him the men's championship.
