WASILLA — Police are warning local merchants to keep an eye out for possible counterfeit money.
The Wasilla Police Department announced in a press release Friday that the city has seen an uptick in funny money circulating through the city.
“The denominations of these bills range from $5 through $100 with $5, $10 and $20 currently being the most common,” the press release says.
Police recommend people working registers educate themselves on how to check for counterfeit money in the “Know Your Money” section of secretservice.gov.
