We need God in America again

Young voices, by Kim Gedicks

The lack of God in this nation has caused our country to decline. It may not look like it with all the blessings and technology we have, but if you take a good look at the sin and immortality, you'll know what I'm talking about.

When this country first started out, all of its principles and laws were based on the Bible. It was founded as a Christian nation. Slowly, over the years, we have taken God out of everything completely. When we take God out of everything, it eliminates the reason our country began. The Bible was taken out of school and replaced with drugs, guns and condoms. It became policy that God was not to be mentioned. In some schools you aren't even allowed to state your loyalty to the nation in the famous Pledge of Allegiance, because it said "one nation under God." This nation has let sin creep up on it and grab it with a firm hold, showing no signs of letting go.

Rape, murder, adultery, cheating, stealing and sex. Some of the biggest issues today, yet they make up only a small percent of America's problems.

Some of our other downfalls have turned into a daily thing. Swearing, alcoholism, sex and abortion are shrugged off as daily routine and "life." America is number one in drug abuse, teen pregnancy and divorce.

Abortion is given as a choice when in fact it's against the law -- it's murder. The child inside has life and breathes even if it isn't out in the world. If you don't want the child, put it up for adoption.

Pornography floods our streets and stores -- you walk by triple-X-rated streets, lined with pornographic stores. All of those things that you do haunt you for the rest of your life. There's no way you're going to just lose it from your memory. You'll regret it at one point or another.

You can't have national morality apart from religious principle. The only hope, answer and way for us is Jesus.

This recent terrorist attack has caused one of the biggest revivals this nation has ever seen. Losing all of those lives was a tragedy. Look, however, how it has been a wake-up call for all of us. We aren't going to live forever, and we don't know when we're going to die. Satan may do something evil, but God will always use it for good. Let's put God back in America as our foundation, light and strength.
